When I first drink tea, I don’t have much feeling of using what containers. Often I directly put tea into a big cup, pour boiling water, and then drink it. But with tea time goes by, I gradually experience that the tea has its own life. I know initially I drink not real tea but water soaked tea leaves.

Drinking tea is like to see a friend, so we need use a sincere and respected heart. Only in this way, we can enjoy real tea. If no such state of mind, even no matter how good tea, that we just drink thirst-quenching water. Tea as a life, it is like us, has its own growing and its own character. The process of drinking tea is actually the exchange between one life and another. No matter people who drink tea have whether such perception, but this exchange is an objective reality. Only if we feel this exchange, we can experience the joy and satisfaction of tea.

Tea set can help us communicate better with the tea. Like to see a friend, we specially arrange the time, and then sort out tea set to prepare drinking tea. The process of tea need not be too cumbersome, but the most important is sincerity. When the beautiful curve of the aromatic tea is poured into the cup from teapot, is this not a bosom friend sitting across from us? We can talk with tea while drinking. So if a person drinks alone, he may inevitably feel melancholy and lonely. But drinking tea alone can be leisurely.

The size of the teapot can be determined according to how many people drink together, as the cup, rather small than big. After all, tea is not just to quench a thirst; they might as well drink a large cup of water directly. If with a big cup, it’s easy to drink too fast and we can’t carefully feel the tea. Therefore, the appropriate size of the cup, allows us to maintain leisurely. Conversely, when we have such a leisurely attitude, we would prefer to use relatively smaller cups. Just a small cup of tea can make us satisfy.
